WatchKeeper ORION is a state of the art command, control and monitoring system, configurable for all vessels types. While underway, ORION monitors all major onboard systems: navigation, main engines, environment, stability, damage control and auxiliaries, providing both manual and automatic control functions. Alongside or at anchor, ORION is programmed to react to pre-set alarms, including intruder, smoke, fire, water ingress, etc, while simultaneously monitoring and controlling auxiliary machinery.
All shipboard data is automatically transmitted to shore, via GPRS and satellite links, providing owners, managers and controllers with accurate monitoring of vessel operation and management. Single vessels and entire fleets can be monitored online, ensuring safety and best practice at all times.
At the heart of WatchKeeper ORION is a ‘black box’ data hub, as used by the military, which combines the output of multiple shipboard sensors, into a single data stream. |

ORION’s rugged, watertight ‘black box’, measures 215 x 110 x 45mm |
The standard WatchKeeper ORION is programmed to accept eight analogue inputs (0-5 Volt), sixteen digital inputs (on/off), sixteen digital outputs (on/off) and two serial channels. The digital data is combined with the serial input data stream. This data stream is then transmitted to a host computer, using the onboard RS232 communication port or optional RS 422 and Ethernet outputs. A second communication port is provided which can read the output of serial sensors. The sixteen digital output lines are controlled via a microprocessor, programmed to switch auxiliary equipment on or off. By using a single serial data stream to read and control multiple sensors, ORION is ideal for use with radio, satellite and mobile phone modems for remote data collection. It can also significantly reduce the number of wires required to send sensor data - thus reducing the cost of cables and connectors. Infinitely configurable, ORION can be programmed to customer's requirements, using Pascal, C, Basic or Assembler.
Onboard, a rugged plasma touch screen provides an ergonomic monitoring and control interface, while ashore, data is displayed in a similar format, via PC and laptop, utilizing online GPRS and internet data links. WatchKeeper ORION is configurable for all vessel types and sizes. |
